On the Shelf

Like many artists, I am constantly inspired but limited by time.  Here are some stories on the shelf that I will be telling...

Story telling - a triptych   This project is inspired by Inuit story telling masks.  I am creating 3 original stories and three characters - Seal Boy, Dream Cleaner and Wise Woman - who will live through these ceramic and mixed media mask works.

Hard and Soft- issues, ethics and boundaries. This is a body of work to include co-creations with artists that inspire and motivate me with their talent and their selves.  The following artists have agreed to co-create:  I will be shopping this show to galleries and exhibitors starting fall 2013.

Fairy Rings - a series inspired by the fungus rings found allover the world and the mythological stories associated with them.

Precious Nations - an exploration in silk inspired by the gemstones used for  special powers by the indigeneous peoples of the Americas. 6-8 wall hangings

Kapa - a copper and sinew quilt inspired by Hawaiian quilting techniques and aboriginal imagery.  Possibly ceramic elements.

Initial test square of copper tooling

Kaleidescope - a silk exploration of kaleidescope imagery on large size panels, with an effort to maintain the shifting nature of kaleidescopes.

Mississippi Mackenzie - the river story

I am also working on show pieces for two one-man shows - "texo" exploring textural silk and "Anemoi" telling the story of the 4 directions.  "Anemoi" has a home in Fort Macmurray in September 2013.

If you have a story that you would like me to tell, send me an email.
